Standing Committees of NE NAHRO
Commissioners Committee
Julie Owens, VP W/ Portfolio
This Committee shall serve to broaden the constituency supporting the goals and objectives of the Association; support programs to expand the skills of the commissioners to effectively discharge their responsibilities; and work with staff, leadership and membership at all levels of the Association in fulfillment of these purposes.
The Committee shall be responsible for the Commissioners Tract at all State Conferences.
The Committee shall also communicate with elected public officials at all levels to enhance the support of the goals and objectives of the Association.
Community Revitalization and Development Committee
Nancy Bentley, VP W/ Portfolio
This Committee addresses a broad range of issues related to the economic vitality of cities and the development and conservation of neighborhoods, including administrative, legislative, regulatory, and funding issues of community development programs and operations. The Committee Chairperson shall be responsible for keeping the membership apprised of National NAHRO issues and decisions and shall support the National and Regional positions when support from the membership is requested.
Housing/Legislative Committee
Chris Lamberty, VP W/ Portfolio
This Committee addresses administrative, legislative, regulatory, and funding issues for a wide range of housing programs and operations. The Committee recommends actions and policies to the Executive Board to further the goal of providing adequate and affordable housing for low- and moderate-income families. The Committee Chairperson shall be responsible for keeping the membership apprised of National NAHRO issues and decisions and shall support the National and Regional positions when support from the membership is requested.
Membership Services Committee
Charlotte Erickson, VP W/ Portfolio
This Committee addresses organizational issues such as constitutional change, dues structure, etc. It also works to coordinate supportive products and services provided by the Association, such as conferences, publications, insurance, member benefits, and awards. The Committee is responsible for such items as directories; stocking and maintaining the hospitality suites at conferences; soliciting, judging, ordering, and presenting awards at the State level; and seeking and encouraging membership in the State Chapter as well as National NAHRO.
Professional Development Committee
Sue Kleider, VP W/ Portfolio
This Committee provides policy and direction for educational services to promote growth of the housing and community development profession by focusing on career enhancement, training and education, certification and credentialing, technical services, and the improvement of the professional skills of NAHRO members.
The Committee shall gather all of the pertinent data from possible sites for annual conferences and workshops and place the information in packets with a ballot to be turned in before the date of the Annual Business Meeting.
This Committee Chairperson shall be responsible for informing the membership of all conferences, workshops, and training sessions sponsored by the National, Regional, and State Associations, and shall support attendance at same.
